54% of Russians are not threatened by the possibility of an authoritarian regime taking power in Russia, according to a recent ROMIR Monitoring survey. 28% were somewhat more threatened and 11% of respondents were absolutely sure that such a danger exists.
Meanwhile, 47% said very little depends on the concentration of power in the president's hands and the main thing is that the political leadership is honest and able.' But, at the same time, 35% said a more empowered president could pull the country ahead and improve people's lives. 14% said such a concentration of power in the president's hands would be ineffective and dangerous. 1630 Russians took part in the survey which was conducted in 107 population centers between March 11 and March 15.
