Arrest of Khodorkovsky suspends Yukos financial assistance to Yabloko

YUKOS financial support to Yabloko was suspended after the arrest of Khodorkovsky, said the party's leader Grigory Yavlinsky at a press conference in Moscow.

He also pointed out that Yabloko is ready to stand bail for Mikhail Khodorkovsky and insists that the measure of restriction in respect to him be changed.

"Khodorkovsky is not dangerous for society," Yavlinsky said.

He also stressed that he does not consider Khodorkovsky as a political prisoner.

Khodorkovsky has been accused by the General Prosecutor's Office on seven articles of the Criminal Code, including tax evasion. Several days ago Khodorkovsky announced his resignation as YUKOS CEO.
