Another Russian space ship starts to the ISS

A rocket carrier Soyuz with a cargo space ship Progress M-48 was launched today from the Russian cosmodrome Baikonur in Kazakhstan towards the International Space Station (ISS). It will deliver to the station approximately 2.5 tons of fuel, water, foodstuffs, equipment, as well as parcels from families for Russian cosmonaut Yury Malenchenko and American astronaut Edward Lu.

They have been working on the station since April and will complete their mission, as has been planned, in about two months.

As RIA Novosti was told in the Russian Flight Control Centre, the Progress ship has already reached the orbit at the appointed time. The automatic docking of the ship with the ISS is to take place on Sunday morning.
