The visa regime on the Russian-Georgian border will be abolished, said Vladimir Putin. The Russian president noted that the introduction of the visa regime is a temporary measure. "No doubt , it will be abolished" right after the problems related to the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus are solved, said Putin meeting WWII veterans in the Kremlin and answering the question of one of the participants in the meeting . The introduction of the visa regime is not connected with Russia's attitude to Georgia and the Georgian people. It is linked to the problems that have arisen in the course of the anti-terrorist operation, said Putin. There have been no other considerations, said the president. Vladimir Putin assured the veterans that at present "we are prepared to do all we can for these measures not to tell on people". In Putin's words, the Russian leaders know that the Georgian authorities are taking measures to combat terrorism. "We hope that this work will be successfully completed", said the president.(kul/ lio)
