Taliban And Northern Alliance Reported Fighting Near Tajik-Afghan Border

A spokesman for the press service of the Russian Federal Frontier Service border group in Tajikistan told a RIA Novosti correspondent on Monday that occasional fights with the use of artillery and small arms between the Taliban and the Northern Alliance had been registered on Afghan territory 5 kilometres away from the Tajik-Afghan border. According to borderguards of the Pyanj border detachment, they observed the fighting not far from the section of the borderguard post Shuranisai on Sunday night.
