Russian law-enforcement agencies "have obtained information about individuals involved in the kidnapping of U.S. citizen Kenneth Gluck in Chechnya, and about the place where he may be held," Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Rushailo told journalists on Thursday. The law-enforcement agencies are taking strenuous measures to find and free the kidnapped U.S. citizen, he said, Interfax reports. All the information is being analyzed by a investigation group, Rushailo said, noting that having kidnapped a foreign citizen on the eve of a PACE delegation's arrival in Chechnya, Chechen rebels "have showed their true face." "This is influencing the position of the Council of Europe," the Russian interior minister said. Rushailo said that more than 50 foreign hostages have been freed in Chechnya over the past two years.
