Public services center opens in Nizhny Novgorod region

A new multi-purpose center for public services has opened in Arzamas, the Nizhny Novgorod region. Nizhny Novgorod Governor Valery Shantsev inspected the work of the new center personally.

The work on the creation of such centers is being conducted in accordance with presidential orders. By 2015, not less than 90 percent of citizens of the Russian Federation should have access to public services in multifunction centers (MFC).

The Nizhny Novgorod governor set the task to implement the decrees of the president before the end of 2014.

"Multifunctional centers to provide public services to people are a part of many technologies, on which the Electronic Government project is being implemented. In accordance with instructions from the President of the Russian Federation, all public and municipal services to the population should be provided in electronic form, so that people do not waste their time in lines. In such a center, services are provided like in stores. If it costs something, a person pays for its according to rates, if it's free, then people get it for free," Nizhny Novgorod region Governor  Valery Shantsev said.

According to him, 22 multifunctional centers for the provision of public services are to be opened in the region before the end of the current year. Forty-one more centers will open in 2014. By 2015, the project will be implemented in full.

The website of state and municipal services of the region provides all necessary information on how to receive 176 public, more than 1,000 municipal and 452 federal services. Citizens can submit electronic applications for 66 public and 78 municipal services and automatically receive messages about their consideration.

To date, the multifunctional center in Arzamas provides 34 municipal services; public services are to be included in the list in the near future. By mid-August, the center will provide a full range of services to the local population.
