Federals Defused Powerful Land Mine In Grozny

Over the past 24 hours Russian police officers defused two land mines and one explosive device in Chechnya. According to the police provisional press centre in Khankala, a powerful land mine had been planted in the Leninsky district of Grozny, and located by servicemen of the Military Commandant's Office, while combat engineers of a temporary police department have defused and destroyed it. A powerful land mine planted on the side-road, was found in the Engel-Urt village, Eastern Chechnya. The munition was exploded. The press centre noted that there 28 special operations had been conducted over the past 24 hours in Chechnya. There were also found four caches containing weapons and ammunition. In addition, a spokesman for the provisional press centre stated that over the same period law-enforcement officers had destroyed nine mini-oil refineries and confiscated 12 tons of oil. Several operations on preventing economic crimes and suppressing the financial sources of illegal armed formations have also been conducted.
