In an address to the people of the world, transmitted by a Baghdad satellite channel, Saddam Hussein has called on US President George Bush to shoot himself. According to Hussein, the start of the war in the Persian Gulf marks the 'beginning of the fall of the US as the world's policeman.' Hussein stressed that 'the best way out for this person is to put a bullet in his head in order to avoid disgrace.'
Hussein said that the Iraqi army was 'well armed and trained' and could stand up to Washington. The Iraqi President believes that 'a third world war can be avoided' if the US gets rid of its president.
