U.S. special forces getting ready to seize strategic facilities in Iraq

Detachments of the U.S. special forces are getting ready to seize Iraqi facilities where mass destruction weapons and ballistic missile launchers are stored. Such an operation is to be carried out at the start of the military operation against the Saddam Hussayn regime, according to the local media report citing well-informed sources in Washington.

About 1,500 servicemen of the special forces are undergoing training in Jordan, the reports say. If the U.S. Administration chooses to launch a military operation against Iraq, this force will be airlifted deep into Iraqi territory before the hostilities start.

The U.S. armed forces intend to take all possible actions to neutralize the Iraqi WMD capability. Among the main missions of the special forces will be to destroy the launchers of Iraqi ballistic missiles.
