Superstar US talk show host Oprah Winfrey has regained the title of the world's most powerful celebrity in her fourth appearance at the top of a Forbes magazine survey that includes Aussie musicians AC/DC and Keith Urban.
With $US315 million ($A361.36 million) in earnings, Winfrey, 56, who next year is set to launch her own television channel, ousted Angelina Jolie as the top power player with the actress slipping from last year's number one to the 18th spot.
In second place to the enduring talk show diva, popular singer Beyonce Knowles jumped two positions with earnings of $US87 million ($A99.8 million), following a profitable year for her growing entertainment and fashion empire, The Age reports.
Director James Cameron came in at No. 3 this year thanks to his hugely successful 3D movie Avatar, which made $2.7 billion -- making it the highest-grossing film ever.
Lady Gaga at No. 4 was the list's highest-ranked newcomer and earned $62 million last year.
Golfer Tiger Woods kept his high standing despite sensational reports of his extra-marital affairs, maintaining the No. 5 position and raking in $105 million even after taking a six-month break from the game.
Others in the top 10 included pop singer Britney Spears at six, and Irish rockers U2 at seven.
Sandra Bullock soared from last year's 92nd spot to be this year's No. 8, with $56 million in earnings.
Actor Johnny Depp was at No. 9, while singer Madonna fell seven positions from her 2009 spot to round out the top 10 with $58 million in earnings, The Australian says.
