Leaders of the military and police missions of the four North European embassies in Moscow have arrived in Murmansk, northern Russia, to inspect the activities of the Arctic regional department of the Russian federal frontier service /FFS/.
Representatives of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark will visit border stations and checkpoints on the Russo-Norwegian border. The guests are interested in the experience of Russian border guards, regarding the prevention of illegal migration, poaching and drug trafficking.
This will not be the first trip of the foreign diplomats organised by Russia's federal frontier service. Earlier, they visited the Tajik-Afghan border and the North Caucasus. According to spokesmen for the Russian border guard department, such trips contribute to international cooperation in the fight against terrorism, smuggling and illegal migration.
