The Moscow government has finally determined the fate of the Portuguese fighting bulls which were brought to Russia for the first-ever corrida. It should have been held in Moscow in September but the Russian Orthodox Church and the municipal authorities protested against it. They regarded corrida as a cruel and worthless show. In early December the bulls will be taken to the research centre of a reserve in the Moscow region, a spokesman for the municipal government said. The Portuguese bulls "are of no cattle-breeding importance and they can be used only for scientific purposes," the spokesman noted.
