Talks on Friday, January 24 in Imatra between Konstantin Totsky, the director of the Russian Federal Border Guards, and Hannu Ahonen, his Finnish counterpart, passed without any disagreements. According to Ahonen, particular attention was paid to questions relating to the work of border crossing points dealing with higher flows of goods and passengers. However, Ahonen said that there were 'no thorny issues' between Russia and Finland.
The talks in Imatra were a continuation of the official meeting between Totsky and Ahonen which began on Thursday. The two men reached agreement on exchanging information on the Russian-Finnish border. Ahonen is planning to visit Russia in the summer at Totsky's invitation.
