Romanian men marry only moustached women

Young men in the province of Dimbovita, Romania, have a very specific requirement in choosing their wives: a girl should have a moustache. Local residents believe that moustached women become most faithful, healthy and fertile wives. Those girls, who do not have any hairs on the upper lip, have to deal with very serious problems as far as marriage and family is concerned.

"I love my moustache, my husband loves it even more. My mother, aunt and many others of my female relatives have it, and nobody ever thought of shaving the moustache off," Maria Nitoi (47) said in an interview with the Libertatea newspaper.
