A play on Pushkin's life premieres in a Belgian theatre

"A night with Pushkin in St. Petersburg" is the name of a chamber performance, which opened in the "Theatre Poeme" in Brussels.

The play was produced by Belgian playwright and director Jean Giste with the assistance of the International Pushkin Foundation.

During the performance, the audience gets acquainted with the entire life of the Russian poet - through French translations of his poems, personal correspondence and memoirs of his contemporaries. The performance is accompanied by Russian music, and during the intervals the viewers are treated with traditional Russian cuisine.

Judging by the amount of resounding applause, the opening night was a success. In this way, the audience expressed gratitude towards the actors and the representatives of the International Pushkin Foundation Alexander and Maria Pushkin - direct descendants of the great Russian poet, who are living in Belgium now.
