The 2nd Moscow festival of flowerbeds, which has opened in Moscow on Saturday, features the great variety of flower world.
The exposition covers over 6,500 square meters in the Vlakhernskoye-Kuzminki historical park. Dozens of flowerbeds decorate the estate and the upper Kuzminki pond.
Elements of vertical planting, animal-shaped flowerbeds, greenhouse and outdoor big plants, small architectural constructions and playgrounds are used in the exposition. All visitors can learn secrets of landscape design and ways of arranging flowerbeds.
Flowerbeds with varied ornamental patterns, elements of landscape design with fountains, little ponds, sweeps and mills will be presented at the festival. Floating flowerbeds will decorate the Kuzminki pond. Over 200 species, from moss and clover to varied roses, are used in the exposition.
The jury will choose the winner taking into account the beauty of the flowerbed, imagination of its creators and quality of the seedlings and work.
Over 100 organizations, municipal planting firms from Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Armavir, Kazan, Krasnodar, Tver, etc. and florists from Italy and France are to participate in the festival.
Its purpose is to revive the park of the Vlakhernskoye-Kuzminki estate, show traditional florist devices and improve the concept of Moscow's development.
The festival will close on September 18.
