Mikhail Khodorkovsky: Investigation Is Not Affecting YUKOS Production

The investigations by the General Prosecutor's Office are not affecting the level of production at YUKOS. This was announced yesterday by YUKOS CEO Mikhail Khodorkovsky in Saratov. 'As we have already said, results in the second quarter were positive and I am sure we will not be disappointed in the third quarter,' he stressed.

'We believe there is a political element in the activity of the General Prosecutor's Office,' he said. 'We can distinguish serious investigative methods from the ones used against us.' Mr Khodorkovsky visited the Saratov Region yesterday where he met Governor Dmitry Ayatsky, gave a lecture about Russian business at Saratov Socio-Economic University and met representatives of small businesses in the region.
