Miss Universe,Oxana Fyodorova, who recently returned from Indonesia, has departed for Panama. Miss Universe is travelling with a mysterious mission – “to fight against AIDS and children’s homelessness.”
So far, this fight looks odd: for example, in Indonesia, Oxana was received by President Megavatti Sukarnoptri. The meeting lasted for half a hour. In addition to Oxana, there was also an Indonesian beauty, the winner of the recent Indonesian beauty competition, Melany Putria Devita Sari; the head of Yayasan Putri Indonesia foundation, Mrs Muryati Dudibyo; and acting charge d’affaires of Russia to Indonesia, Sergei Petlyakov.
Mrs Megavati Sukanoputri held Oxana up as an example for Indonesian beauty: she noticed that Oxana was not only beautiful, but ambitious as well. Mrs Megavat advised her compatriots and other Indonesian women to follow the example of Oxana, who also thinks about the beauty and richness of her soul.
According to Muryati Sudibyo, Oxana made a great contribution to Indonesian charities, because her visit to Indonesia drew attention of many Indonesians to the questions of the nation's health.
Now, Oxana is fighting for the health of the Panama nation. She will participate in the ceremony of the signing of an agreement according to which this country renders the right to hold next year's Miss Universe competition.
The competition of the first beauties of the world will coincide with the 100th anniversary of Panama's independence, which will be celebrated in May in the Panama Canal Village tourist center on the Pacific shore.
Oxana is expected to participate, together with the winners of other beauty competitions of 15 Latin American countries, in a demonstration of haut couture collection. To enter the podium together with Latin American beauties is, of course, very presitgious for Miss Universe!
It should be reminded that having won in the competition, Oxana is at the one-year disposal of the competition organizers, so she has to work off an on contracts. For example, she participated in an obscene show while answering questions about her private life and, therefore, could not make the Moscow competition Miss Russia 2002, while breaking the many-year tradition (she was to hand over the crown to the new winner).
It is not known whether the lieutenant of the Russian police is being used for any other aims, though it is obvious that this victory hardly will bring fame to Russia. Poor girl!
