The Russian Audit Chamber can really help spur foreign investment in the economy of Russia, chamber chairman Sergei Stepashin said at a seminar in London. He said that Russia's Audit Chamber could attract foreign investors by providing them with diverse information and issuing recommendations for the selection of an optimal investment strategy. Stepashin said that in certain cases his chamber could supervise specific investment projects and control their implementation. The Audit Chamber is a non-profit organisation, which is why such investment projects are in question that are carried out either against guarantees from the Russian government, with the attraction of resources from the federal coffers, or with loans released by international lending organisations to the Russian side, stressed Stepashin.
