According to the report of the RIA Novosti correspondent, on Saturday in his statement made at the international scientific and practical conference "WTO and national economies. Experience and problems" Nikolai Ryzhkov, Chairman of the International Producers' Union and a State Duma (lower house of parliament) deputy announced that the process of Russia's adherence to the World Trade Organization (WTO) should be transparent and should not be accelerated. While qualifying adherence to WTO as " a command of the time (presently over 92 percent of all global trade in products and services is regulated by norms and rules of this organization) Ryzhkov stressed the necessity to develop a state programme of Russia's adherence to WTO. He stated that prior to adherence it was necessary to answer the question of how to maintain economic security of the country. In the opinion of Ryzhkov, it is necessary, in particular, to restructure industrial production sphere. The conference on problems of adhering to WTO is attended by representatives of a number of CIS countries, as well as of USA, Great Britain, China, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Czechia, Afghanistan, United Arab Emirates and Syria.
