A Tupolev-154 airliner carrying 80 passengers and 9 crew members on board has successfully performed an emergency landing at the airport of Novosibirsk, central Siberia. Having taken off at the airport of Irkutsk at 4:34 Moscow time, the jet which belongs to Sibir Airlines and is employed in a regular flight between Irkutsk and Moscow, was forced to alter the course and head for Novosibirsk when the crew's efforts to retract the right undercarriage leg had failed, an official at the Civil Defence and Emergencies Department of the Novosibirsk Region has told RIA Novosti news agency.
