High-Speed Railway From Maritime Territory to Kazakhstan

The first high-speed container train left Nakhodka on Friday by the route Vostochny Port (Russia) - Alma Ata (Kazakhstan).

As the press centre of Vostochny Port, the largest in Russia, reported, the train consists of fifty fitting platforms. Goods brought to Nakhodka from South Korea - TV sets, refrigerators and washing machines - are carried in the containers.

The time of the delivery of containers by this route has been halved. It will now take a high-speed container train nine days to cover the way from the Pacific coast to the largest city of Kazakhstan stretching for more than 7,000 kilometres.

The project of high-speed delivery of containers from Vostochny Port to Kazakhstan was developed and introduced by the Vostochny Mezhdunarodny Konteinerny Servis (Eastern International Container Service) company.

As agreed with the Kazakh side, this route will be extended from Alma Ata to the stations of Leninabad in Tajikistan and Sergeli, Andizhan, Kubasai and Ulugbek in Uzbekistan.

Only one high-speed route Nakhodka-Finland with a length of 11,000 kilometres existed in Russia until now.

It takes eleven days to deliver containers with cargoes of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region from the Maritime Territory to Finland by this route.
