The Uralsib banking group, which has its headquarters in Ufa, has bought a 19.27% stake in the commercial Tyumenprofbank (Tyumen Region). This was revealed to Rosbalt's correspondent on Friday, January 24 by Uralsib's public relations department.
The banking group's latest acquisition is a universal bank which carries out hard-currency, rouble, and share operations, provides credit to individual and corporate clients, and offers the "Client-Bank" service, as well as Visa and Mastercard credit cards.
Tyumenprofbank has four branches - in Tyumen, Nadym, Surgut, and Nefteyugansk - and over 10 thousand corporate and private clients. Its largest clients include the Central Aviation Agency, the Communal Maintenance and Construction state enterprise, and Yamalgazpromstroi - 2000. In January 1, 2003 the bank's currency reserves were worth 951 million roubles (USD 29.9 million), its own capital was worth 202 million roubles (USD 6.35 million), and its credit portfolio was worth around 500 million roubles (USD 15.7 million).
Uralsib representatives stressed that the Tyumen Region is a priority region for the banking group's territorial expansion. It has branches in Tyumen and Nizhnevartovsk, and around 10 offices in the region. Uralsib's branches provide services to representatives of Bashkirian business working in the region, as well as to local firms. Uralsib's plans include further development of its retail network in the Tyumen Region and attracting new corporate and individual clients.
Uralsib was founded in 1993. The bank has authorised capital stock of 5.7 billion roubles (USD 179 million), which it plans to increase to 7.6 billion roubles (USD 239 million) in the first half of 2003. The Uralsib banking group includes 17 branches and 5 subsidiary companies. The group's last acquisition was a 61.9% stake in the Perm-based commercial bank Dzerzhinsky in January of this year.
