Komi Republic to Seek Agricultural Partners at Green Week Exhibition in Berlin

A delegation from the Komi Republic intends to discuss plans to reconstruct the republic's only pig-farming complex, the Zelenets farm, with German businessmen during the Green Week in Berlin. This was announced by the republic's ministry for agriculture and industry. A business plan for the reconstruction of the Zelenets state unitary enterprise is currently being developed on the basis of a proposal from the German firm Big Dutchman. The reconstruction will cost the republic around EUR 300 thousand, although the federal budget may cover some of the expense.

As well as discussing plans for the Zelenets farm, the delegation also plans to meet potential partners for other businesses in Komi. The official delegation includes the republic's minister for agriculture and industry, Gennady Nizovtsev, and managers from the Syktyvkar Meat-processing Plant, the Matreko-Kholod and Istok-D companies, the Vorkutinsk brewery and other firms.

The prestigious Green Week international exhibition will take place in the German capital between January 17 and 27. In January last year, 1614 companies from 56 countries in Green Week. The Russian delegation, which is attending the exhibition for the tenth time, is made up of representatives of 130 businesses from 16 regions.
