A meeting to discuss the problems of the customs infrastructure in Karelia will be held in Petrozavodsk tomorrow. The meeting will deal with the issue of the State Customs Committee's decision to close streamlined customs points on the Karelian-Finnish border.
According to the press office of the republic's administration, the meeting will be attended by Presidential Plenipotentiary for the North-West Federal District Victor Cherkesov and the head of the North-Western Customs Department, Vladimir Viunov. Participants in the meeting will include the heads of Karelia's most important departments: financial and customs organs and the prosecutor's office, the head of the Petrozavodsk division of the state railways, the Karelian minister for timber, natural resources and the environment, and also the heads of the largest timber exporters in the republic.
