Police search for six Pakistanis in Egypt’s resort attack probe

Egyptian police are searching for six Pakistani men suspected of being involved in the attacks in Egyptian resort Sharm el-Sheik during that killed 88 people.

The investigators, who declined to be identified because of the sensitivity of the probe, said the six men may have had a direct role in carrying out Saturday's three bomb blasts or in planning the attack, Egypt's deadliest ever.

Police announced that they have also found the remains of what they believe may be a Pakistani man at the Ghazala Gardens Hotel, where a suicide car bomb attack was carried out early Saturday, said the investigators, adding that DNA tests are to be carried out.

The photographs of six missing Pakistani men who were staying at a Sharm hotel and had left their passports at the reception have been circulated at police checkpoints in Sharm el-Sheik.

Police did not say which hotel the men were staying at, but stressed that it was not that the bomb-ravaged Ghazala in Naama Bay, reports the AP.

According to Aljazeera's correspondent in Egypt, the group of Pakistanis disappeared from the hotel they were staying at consisted of nine people.

The two other blasts rocked a car park near to the hotel and an area about three kilometers (two miles) away called the Old Market.

Earlier Egyptian police have detained more than 70 people in connection with the deadly bombings in Sharm el-Sheik.
