I cannot see Germany for instance-or anybody else really-to pick a fight with the Americans
I have read about the St.Petersburg summit. I am German but I live at present in the United Kingdom. I am taking great interest in world politics and I am very concerned about the current situation. At the same time I am delighted about the St Petersburg summit. Who would have thought that one day- after centuries of hostilities between Russia, France and Germany -that these three proud countries would cooperate in such admirable manner? The threat however is pressing and very real. The concern is that Syria or Iran(less likely) will be next on the hit list of the Wild West style administration who is seized power in Washington. The big question is what can we do to prevent that? I cannot see Germany for instance-or anybody else really-to pick a fight with the Americans. It would however be vital to contain the American drive for world domination. So perhaps one has to establish an 'entente cordiale'. It has to be put to the Americans that the invasion of any other country without the authorisation by the UN would effectively mean a casus belli! Germany has to ask herself if she wants to allow its airspace and give logistical support again to further violations of international law.
In any case I hope the situation will not deteriorate any further. All the best for your team and all your readers
Yours Sincerely
Eberhard Bartelmess
