The names of 11 Russian citizens sit on top of the list of East Europe’s richest people. On the whole, nearly half of all mentioned in the list are from Russia. The list also contains 7 Ukrainians including those who hold top government posts.
The list was published by a Polish magazine Wprost. Roman Abramovich ($15 billion) leads the pack leaving all his rivals behind. The head of Alfa Group Mikhail Fridman is a runner-up ($8billion). The holder of a controlling stake in Novolipetsk steelworks Vladimir Lisin is in a third place ($7.7billion). Vladimir Patanin and Mikhail Prokhorov are the next in line ($7 billion each). Oleg Deripaska and Viktor Vekselberg are one step below ($6 billion each). The list goes on with Vladimir Evtushenko ($5.6 billion), Alexei Mordashov ($5.5 billion), and Vagit Alikperov ($3.2 billion).
Co-owner of the group Privat Igor Kolomoiski and his $2.8 billion put him at No12 as the richest Ukrainian in the list. The head of corporation Undustrial Union of Donbass Sergei Taruta ($2.4 billion) is one step away from him. The owner of Donetsk football club Rinat Akhametov ($2.1 billion) is No15 on the list. The son-in-law to Leonid Kuchma Viktor Pinchuk ($1.5 billion) is No 27. Pyotr Poroshenko ($350 million), Secretary of Ukraine’s Council of National Security and Defense, is No 95 in the list, Pravda.ru reports.
