The Group of Eight ministers of ecology are to meet in Paris on April 25-27, reads the press release of the French Ministry of Ecology and Sustainable Development.
France is currently chairing the Group of Eight, and its Minister of Ecology and Sustainable Development Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin will attend the conference.
As is noted in the press release, the meeting is expected "to help implement decisions taken by the world summit on sustainable development in Johannesburg. With this in mind, it is planned to discuss "three key topics": the situation in Africa, sustainable consumption and production, and international environment management.
"Special attention", says the document, will be paid to "water-related problems".
The press release stresses that the meeting will be in preparation of a Group of Eight summit, to be held in Evian, France, early in June.
