On November 10, the International Committee of the Red Cross opens humanitarian aid centres for Afghan refugees in Turkmenistan and Iran, announced ICRC President Jacob Kellenberger on Thursday. According to his words, the ICRC is planning to resume direct humanitarian aid deliveries to Afghan refugees in the near future, probably with the help of the Turkmen and Iranian centres. Despite the ongoing air raids, the Red Cross wants to reopen its depots and distribution centers on Afghan territory. "Direct humanitarian aid for the suffering population of Afghanistan remains one of our top priorities," stressed Kellenberger.
