A visit to Russia by Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi and the bilateral agreements reached during the visit are a milestone in the development of bilateral relations. Such a statement was made by first deputy foreign minister of Russia Alexander Avdeyev while opening a meeting with the Ethiopian Foreign Minister, Seyoum Mesfin. According to Avdeyev, in the course of Moscow negotiations Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ethiopian Premier Meles Zenawi yesterday signed the Declaration on the principles of friendly relations and partnership between Russia and Ethiopia -- "a good and important document." Today's meeting will be held in the light of the agreements "which were concluded yesterday between President Putin and Premier Zenawi and formulated in the joint declaration," Avdeyev stressed.
