Successful elections in Chechnya prove that the political settlement is underway in the republic, Russian Minister of National Policy Vladimir Zorin told journalists on Monday.
"Chechen electors clearly showed that the Chechen Republic was coming back to all-Russian political life as an equal participant," Vladimir Zorin said.
According to him, the elections showed that the idea to make the Russian Interior Ministry responsible for the anti-terrorist campaign in Chechnya was a productive one.
"The situation in the republic will inevitably be stabilized and the international observers should understand it. Whether they like it or not, they have to discuss all economic and political issues including the political settlement in Chechnya with Chechen President Akhmad Kadyrov," Vladimir Zorin concluded.
