Vladimir Putin has sent a message to the participants and guests of the Second Congress of Russian and Finnish Twin Towns, the Kremlin press service has informed RIA Novosti.
The message, in particular, read:
"It is pleasing to see that your meetings, which bring together municipal heads and representatives of state and public organisations from the two countries, have already become a good tradition.
"Key issues of Russo-Finnish inter-regional co-operation are on the forum's agenda. A lot depends on how they are decided for the development of business, science and technical, information and tourist contacts, as well as successful interaction in the education, healthcare and environmental spheres.
"I believe that during the Congress practical results will be achieved that will serve the strengthening of friendship and trust between our nations, and will facilitate the expansion of good neighbourly relations between Russia and Finland."
