Volume of Russian aircraft exports to remain unchanged in 2003

The volume of Russian aircraft exports will amount to around $3.5bn in 2003, just as it was in 2002, Deputy General Director of the Russian air and space agency Rosaviakosmos Valery Voskoboynikov reported to RBC. According to him, this year the volume will not increase as the top priority of air companies is the expansion of the export market. He noted that it would, however, rise in 2004.

In 2002, Russian aircraft producers exported 67 airplanes, 100 aircraft engines as well as a variety of equipment, parts and components for airplanes. In 2002, Russia's aircraft production volume surged to RUR147bn ($4.62bn), which was 29.1 percent higher compared to the figures of 2001.
