Siberian satellites to go on show at Le Bourget

Visitors at the 45th Le Bourget air show will soon have the chance to see Siberian-made Earth satellites.

The press service of the Mikhail Reshetnev Scientific-Production Centre, which is based in the town of Zheleznogorsk (near Krasnoyarsk in Siberia), announced this news today. The centre is responsible for about 70% of the most complicated Russian spacecraft designed for various purposes.

A delegation of leading specialists from the centre led by chief satellite constructor Albert Kozlov set off from Krasnoyarsk for Paris on Monday. The Siberian scientists are intending to present their best creations, designed in collaboration with French, German and Japanese experts.

A project to launch five modernised Express-AM satellites, which will have a service life of more than 10 years, is currently being implemented at the centre with the foreign specialists.

Prior to his departure, Kozlov said that he did not rule out prospects for joint work with Italian colleagues on the European global navigation system would become clear during his time at Le Bourget.
