Russian President Vladimir Putin said that while working on the UN's new resolution on Iraq it became possible to find a compromise.
Speaking with journalists after the Russia-EU summit, the Russian president said that many people "met one another halfway", including the "American partners and President Bush." The Russian leader thanked British Prime Minister Tony Blair for active efforts in this direction.
He reminded those present that Blair was in Moscow even before the resolution's adoption, but everything was not clear back then to tell the press.
However, Putin stressed, that visit by the British premier to Moscow was one of the key ones for the adoption of a coordinated decision on the new Iraq resolution.
