Trade turnover between the Kaliningrad Region and Poland came to over USD 370 million last year. This was announced by Polish Trade Consul in Kaliningrad Andrej Zbucki at a press conference in Kaliningrad yesterday.
As a Rosbalt correspondent reports, Mr Zbucki said that the growing level of trade with the Kaliningrad Region over the last two years is due not only to the region's close proximity but also to a favourable investment climate and the tax privileges which apply in the Kaliningrad Region. 575 companies are currently operating in the region with Polish investment.
Mr Zbucki believes that EU expansion and the introduction of visa regulations in Poland will not affect trade relations with the Kaliningrad Region as both sides are interested in increasing the level of trade.
