Association of regional banks to organize bureau of credit histories

The Council of the Association of regional banks(Association 'Russia') decided to create a bureau of credit histories within the framework of the noncommercial partnership Interbank Accounting System, Alexander Murychev, president of the Association, declared today. The bill on credit bureaus is being elaborated on by the Economy Ministry currently. However Murychev believes that a credit bureau should be created not waiting for the adoption of a relative law. Some 60 banks are members of the Interbank Accounting System and they "trust each other", he pointed out.

According to Igor Kogan, president of the Interbank Accounting System, "if a database of credit histories is created in the country, the problem of giving credits to small businesses will be solved".
