A two-day international forum - Oil of Russia: the Present and the Future - opens in Moscow on Thursday. The main organiser of the forum is the LUKoil company which has timed it to the 10th anniversary of the company's activity on the Russian market. As RIA Novosti was told in the forum's organising committee, it will be attended by the heads of the leading Russian and international oil companies. The aim of the forum is to discuss the present-day situation on the world oil markets, further development of the oil industry and work out measures towards stabilising the situation on the world oil markets. This topic is especially urgent today in view of the latest sharp slump in the world oil prices, pointed out officials in the organising committee. It is expected that the forum will result in adopting appropriate decisions which will make it possible to coordinate the activity of Russian and Western oil companies, aimed at stabilising the situation on the world oil markets.
