Putin establishes National Guard to combat terrorism in Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered to form The National Guard on the basis of the internal troops of the Ministry for Internal Affairs.

Putin announced the decision at a meeting with the Minister for Internal Affairs Victor Kolokoltsev, the head of the Federal Service for Drug Control Viktor Ivanov and Commander of Interior Troops, Viktor Zolotov.

"The new federal executive body formed on the basis of internal troops of the Ministry for Internal Affairs will be engaged in the fight against terrorism, organized crime and in close contact with the Ministry for Internal Affairs will continue to perform the functions of OMON and SOBR riot police units," said Putin.

Pravda.Ru asked an expert opinion from retired Major General of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, Yevgeny Lobachev.

"To be honest, I did not expect it from him (Putin - Ed.). This is another act of courage. He is an outrageously brave man, a man who is willing to do everything to ensure our country becomes best country in the world, clean of terrorist filth," Major General said in an interview with Pravdoy.Ru.

The Federal Migration Service and the Federal Drug Control Service will be reassigned to the Ministry for Internal Affairs. "Such structures should be subordinated to the people whom the president trusts. It has finally happened. May I take the liberty of saying it in a rude form: all the shit will be beaten out of it," Yevgeny Lobachev said.
