An operative officer on duty in the Russian Ministry of Emergencies reported with reference to statement of Lieutenant-General Sergei Salov, chief of the operative group of the Russian Ministry of Emergencies that 1130 people were engaged in search and rescue operations at the site of the terrorist act in Mozdok (a city in north Ossetia, North Caucasus) including rescuers, servicemen of the defense ministry, Interior troops, Officers of the Ministry of the Interior and Ministry of Health.
According to the duty officer, 6 search dogs, 87 units of equipment and 10 ambulance cars are involved in clearing up debris and search for people.
According to different sources, from 14 to 24 people may stay under the debris.
The duty officer stated that rescue operations at the site of the terrorist act were to be completed by the end of Saturday.
Earlier Nikolai Lityuk, first deputy head of the Southern regional center of the Russian Ministry of Emergencies reported that bodies of 33 people were withdrawn from under the debris at the explosion site.
According to the Ministry of Emergencies, 78 people applied for medical assistance, 59 of them were hospitalised. 10 people are in grave condition. 19 people were released from the hospital after treatment.
According to the preliminary information, during the explosion 120 people stayed in the hospital, out of them being 28 medical personnel and 92 patients.
On Friday around 19.00 a KAMAZ truck loaded with explosives broke through into the territory of the Mozdok military hospital. The explosion practically razed the building to the ground.
