The military command and the Chechen leadership have taken a decision to remove all roadblocks from the streets of Grozny, the RIA Novosti correspondent quotes military commandant of Chechnya Yevgeny Abrashin as saying on Wednesday.
Simultaneously, 12 stationary roadblocks are being arranged along the perimeter of the Chechen capital. They will bar, if need be, the entry to the city and inspect suspicious vehicles and persons. These roadblocks will have computers to provide information on those on the wanted list and stolen cars.
At the present moment, 60 roadblocks are in operation in Chechnya. This number will be cut to 20, reported the general. This will have a positive effect on the situation there, he is sure.
