The police of the republic of Buryatia (Siberia) investigate the death of a traffic policeman, whose body was found on Sunday in the woods, Interfax reports. According to preliminary information, the police officer shot himself after he ran over a child on the road.
The night before, the officer was returning to his police station in the village of Ust-Barguzin. Driving along a street, the officer's car ran over a seven-year-old girl. As a result of the accident, the child received head injuries and bone fractures.
After the incident, a police officer took the girl to hospital. Afterwards, the man drove off to the forest, located near the village, where he committed suicide by shooting himself from his service pistol.
In Russia's Volgograd region, a police officer, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication, was driving a Volkswagen Golf. The man lost control of the car and ran over a 71-year old pedestrian. Unbelievably, the pedestrian was the officer's grandfather. The elderly man died at the scene from injuries.
On September 22, Muscovite Alexander Maximov, being in a state of alcohol intoxication, was driving his Toyota Crown at the speed of 120 km/h. The car touched the metal bump and hurled towards the pavement. The Toyota smashed into a bus stop and dragged the metal construction together with the people along the pavement for ten meters.
Three people were injured in the accident and seven were killed: five children from a boarding school, born between 1995-1997, and two adults accompanying them. The children were returning from the awards ceremony of the Sixth Moscow Festival of Arts and Crafts for Children and Youth with Disabilities.
