The terrorist network reportedly plans to perform a series of bloody terrorist acts during the holy month of Ramadan
Suicide bombers from Al-Qaeda and other international terrorist groups have become the horror of modern times. If a woman dressed in a black gown with a hijab on her head appears somewhere in public, in the Moscow metro, for example, she will obviously cause panic among people, especially if she looks like a woman of an Asian nationality. Someone will cast sidelong looks on the potentially dangerous passenger; others will prefer to call the police to avoid a possible life-threatening risk.
It goes without saying that such fears of modern times are based on definitive grounds. Suicide bombers have conducted the vast majority of terrorist attacks around the world in recent years. They blasted bombs in Iraq and on the Indonesian island of Bali, where they killed about 30 foreign tourists during the past weekend; suicide bombers blew up the London Tube and an Egyptian hotel in the summer of 2005.
Turkish special services have recently found out that Al-Qaeda trained 50 female bombers to conduct a series of terrorist acts during the holy month of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Muslim calendar (starts on October 5 this year). In spite of the fact that Turkey cannot be referred to as a state, where Al-Qaeda has a network of local cells, the terrorist group plans to carry out several bloody attacks in this country, the resorts of which enjoy great popularity with foreign tourists. The attacks are said to mark a new stage of the active struggle against so-called infidels. To crown it all, it transpired that the prime suspect of 9/11 attacks in the USA, Osama bin Laden, plans to arrive in Iraq to personally control the terrorist process.
Turkey has already started taking active efforts to detect suicide bombers and prevent possible terrorist acts. The Turkish police nabbed a well-known Al-Qaeda leader, Syrian-born radical Luia Sakra, in the middle of August. Sakra is suspected of having organized several terrorist acts in Turkey, which luckily remained unfulfilled. Turkish special services also said that Luia Sakra can probably be involved in September 11 attacks in the USA and in London bombings in July of the current year. He is considered to be one of the most mysterious leaders of Al-Qaeda: Sakra publicly stated once that he preferred alcohol drinks and did not see any point in prayers. Luia Sakra is reputed to have become the brain center of the international terrorist network: his capture has definitely become an outstanding accomplishment of the Turkish police.
