Ex-U.S. President Bill Clinton has suggested that he would like to have a diplomatic role if his wife is elected to the White House.
Hillary Rodham Clinton is the front-runner for the Democratic Party nomination in next year's election.
In an interview broadcast Friday by the British Broadcasting Corp., Clinton at first refrained from suggesting any roles, saying he would do "whatever she wants."
When asked what sort of job he would prefer, Clinton said: "I think that probably I would be of most use to her doing something to try to help restore America's standing in the world, and build more allies and get us to work together again.
"You can see in the recent success of the North Korean nuclear effort that when America moved from unilateralism to working through and with others it works pretty well."
