Lukashenko: Belarus to develop relations with USA on mutual respect basis

Belarus intends to develop its relations with the USA on basis of mutual respect. This was disclosed by Belarus President Aleksander Lukashenko, when receiving credentials from newly appointed US Ambassador to Belarus George Krol.

"Belarus and the USA can improve significantly their relations, taking them few steps higher," the Belarus President said. "We realise that the USA is a powerful country and are ready to use its experience," Lukashenko noted. "Belarus people are no hard-liners and will consult with their partners' intersts," he stressed. "However, we intend to build Belarus and American relations taking into consideration our interests and our policy," he added.

George Krol in his turn said, that the US policy, regarding Belarus remains the same - "progressive development of relations with Belarus, based on the positive steps of the Belarus government towards the democratisation."
