Programs in Russian with English subtitles will be aired on one of the public TV channels in Washington starting from August 15. The audience will see news from Russia and the CIS countries, various shows and films. There will be more than 40 hours of broadcasting a week.
Russian language broadcasts, presented by TV channel "Russian World" will be aired by MHz NETWORKS and are meant first of all for the Russian-speaking residents of the American capital.
The Russian Embassy to the USA welcomed this initiative. "The Russian-speaking community of Washington didn't have an access to the media before, but now things are beginning to change", Embassy spokesman Sergei Ryabkov told journalists.
