For the first time in its history, Armenia is taking part in the international wine fair VINEXPO in Bordeaux, France.
According to the Public Relations and Press Department of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the fair features the produce of the Yerevan Brandy Company, an organization whose controlling block of stocks belongs to the French, and a company called Vedi-Alko.
The elite wine fair in the world's wine capital Bordeaux is held once in two years, so participants have to wait for years until their turn comes to attend the fair. Armenia, however, was lucky, having agreed with France about its participation during the previous VINEXPO event.
The current fair, which ends on June 26, gathered 50,000 specialists from 140 countries. But only 40 countries, including Armenia, have had a chance to exhibit their own produce.
