U.S. House of Representatives Imposed Sanctions Against Companies from Russia, France, Germany and Syria

Late on Thursday night, the House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress adopted by a majority of votes an amendment to the bill on financing the Iraq military campaign. According to the amendment, it is forbidden to use money from the U.S. budget, allocated for the post-war restoration of Iraq, for purchasing goods or services from any organisations of Russia, France, Germany and Syria.

Well-known Democrat Congressman Edward Kennedy initiated the amendment.

The bill adopted by the House of Representatives envisages additional allocation of 77.9 billion dollars from the U.S. budget for covering the expenditures on the military campaign in Iraq and the post-war Iraq rehabilitation, as well as support for anti-terrorist struggle and security provision in the United States itself.
